Powder Coating Finish

Powder coating is a dry film finishing process that electrostatically charges a fine polyester resin onto the part, then melts it in a 400 °F curing oven to create a uniform, chip-resistant skin 3 to 6 mils thick. The cured coating seals edges, masks slight machining marks and provides a hard scratch-resistant surface, UV stable, that outperforms liquid paint in abrasion and salt spray tests. Simply choose your color from the chart below; our technicians prepare, powder and cure your parts in a single pass, adding approximately 5-7 days to overall lead time while delivering them ready to use straight out of the box.

Technical Specifications

What you need to know about powder coating

  • We apply powder coating on mild steel, aluminum and stainless steel.
  • Hot-rolled steel may have mill scale; its finish may appear less smooth than cold-rolled steel.
  • Each part must have at least one racking hole ≥ 1/16" (1.6 mm) diameter for processing.
  • Tapped holes cannot be masked; they must be re-tapped before hardware installation.
  • Finished parts may show slight fingerprints from post-cure handling.
